Art Upstairs: Building a Creative Future for Logan County
A Partnership Between LoCo Art and the Holland Theatre
At LoCo Art, we believe that the arts have the power to bring people together, inspire creativity, and strengthen the communities we call home. That's why we're proud to support and partner with the historic Holland Theatre on an exciting initiative: Art Upstairs.
This initiative represents more than a renovation project. It's an investment in the future of arts and culture in Logan County.
Reimagining the Space Above the Holland Theatre
For generations, the Holland Theatre has been a cornerstone of arts and entertainment in downtown Bellefontaine. Its historic stage has welcomed countless performances, artists, and audiences, creating memories and enriching lives throughout our community.
Now, we're looking toward the next chapter.
The Art Upstairs initiative seeks to renovate and transform the underutilized upstairs space of the Holland Theatre into a vibrant center for artistic expression, education, and community engagement.
The vision is to create a welcoming, accessible environment where creativity can flourish beyond the stage, opening new possibilities for arts education, collaboration, workshops, and community programming.
Why This Matters to Our Community
A thriving arts community doesn't happen by accident. It takes dedicated people, meaningful partnerships, and spaces where creativity can grow.
Logan County is home to talented artists, musicians, performers, educators, and creative individuals of all ages. Yet opportunities to connect, collaborate, learn, and share artistic experiences depend on having spaces that support those activities.
Art Upstairs offers an opportunity to help address that need.
By investing in dedicated space for the arts, we can work toward:
Expanding arts education: Creating opportunities for children, students, and adults to explore new artistic interests and develop their talents.
Supporting local artists: Providing opportunities for artists to connect, collaborate, teach, and share their work.
Strengthening our downtown: Building upon the Holland Theatre's role as a cultural destination and contributing to the continued vitality of downtown Bellefontaine.
Making the arts more accessible: Encouraging greater participation in creative experiences throughout Logan County.
Building lasting community connections: Bringing people of different ages, backgrounds, and experiences together through the arts.
The benefits of a strong arts community reach far beyond performances and exhibitions. The arts encourage creative thinking, build confidence, foster relationships, and contribute to a community's unique identity.
Stronger Together: LoCo Art and the Holland Theatre
LoCo Art is proud to call the Holland Theatre home. Our partnership reflects a shared belief that the arts should be a meaningful and accessible part of life in Logan County.
Through Art Upstairs, we see an opportunity to build upon the Holland Theatre's remarkable legacy while helping create new possibilities for future generations of artists and audiences.
The Holland Theatre has long been a place where our community gathers to experience the arts. Together, we hope to expand that experience by creating opportunities for community members to become active participants in the creative process.
How You Can Help Shape the Future
Transforming a vision into reality requires community support.
The Art Upstairs initiative is an opportunity for individuals, families, businesses, and organizations to invest in something that will benefit Logan County for years to come.
Whether through financial contributions, advocacy, or simply sharing the vision with others, every expression of support helps move this important initiative forward.
Those interested in supporting Art Upstairs are encouraged to contact the Holland Theatre to learn more about the campaign and opportunities to contribute.
Our Community. Our Creativity. Our Future.
Imagine a place where a young artist discovers a lifelong passion, where neighbors gather to learn something new, where local talent is celebrated, and where creative ideas become shared experiences.
That's the future we hope to help build through Art Upstairs.
We're excited about what lies ahead and grateful to the Holland Theatre and the many community members who recognize the importance of investing in the arts.
Together, we can create more than a space. We can create opportunities, connections, and a lasting legacy of creativity for Logan County.
