Mission

To provide youth with family-inclusive arts programming that is accessible to Logan County residents regardless of economic status.

“I consider LoCo Art a family. I have shared creative workshops ever since my vision to pass the brush to the next generation. When I may feel all hope is gone, I choose to try a little more tenderness…by putting myself in another person’s shoes only to be humbled and learn how much we have in common. That is how I paint, from my spirit.”

History

LoCo Art (formerly the Bellefontaine Cultural Arts Commission, or BCAC) was created in 1990 by an Ordinance of the City of Bellefontaine, Ohio, with 12 Commissioners appointed by the Mayor. Today LoCo Art is an independent 501 c 3 organization funded in large part by the Frank and Cora Chamberlain Family Endowment and the Estate of Rowena Reams. BCAC is also sustained due to project funding provided by the Ohio Arts Council.

Today, LoCo Art focuses entirely on youth and family-inclusive arts programming that is accessible to Logan County residents regardless of economic status.

Our main workshop space is located in the Logan County Art Center. The Logan County Art Center is attached to the Holland Theatre in downtown Bellefontaine, Ohio.
