song, dance and artistic inspiration

May 29 and 30th @ LoCo Art @ Camp Willson YMCA

This two day workshop will provide participants with a fun and open look at the craft of songwriting with the wonderfully talented Kristin Andreassen.  The goal of the program will be to share songs, explore the artistic process through fun accessible activities and games, and learn some traditional dance steps.

Now based in Nashville, Kristin's artistic journey as a songwriter and musician has turned many corners and opened many doors, from studying traditional music in Nova Scotia, to organizing formative groups of contemporary songwriters in New York City, creating the massively popular Miles of Music Artist Retreat camp in New Hampshire, and working with many of the top artists in Nashville today.  Her most recent project, The Bright Siders, presents music that helps kids and families have meaningful conversations about emotions.   For our program, she'll be joined by a couple wonderful friends - the program is sure to be fun.

Open to all ages - parents are encouraged to attend, especially with youth under the age of 10.  Sessions will be from 10:30 - 2pm each day with a break for lunch.
